Rick Owens Store, New York, NY

The 4,600 sq.ft. Rick Owens flagship in SoHo marks the brand’s move from its Hudson Street outpost to a prominent corner at Howard and Crosby Streets. D’Apostrophe collaborated with Rick Owens and his team to bring his vision and design to life. The project reflects the brand’s brutalist and minimal aesthetic, and displays sculptures, installations and furniture pieces by Owens’s partner, Michèle Lamy.

A full renovation centered the architecture around a monumental concrete stair, site-cast with over 275,000 pounds of concrete. The restrained palette of concrete, steel, mirror, continuous LED strips, and white walls creates a raw, immersive environment as a backdrop for RO’s creations.

The first floor functions as a hybrid gallery and boutique, presenting accessories and footwear alongside Lamy’s sculptural works in plaster, rock crystal, foam, and camel fur, while the second floor displays the full ready-to-wear collection.
